HISTORY: The Savannah Society of Association Executives was founded in 2005, when Scott West, long time ASAE, NYSAE member - moved home to Savannah and started looking for a place to meet other Association Executives, leaders of local membership organizations.
There is a STATE : Society of Association Executives (GSAE) but its meetings are all held in Atlanta - 4 hours away.
The need for a LOCAL organization to serve as clearing house for MASTER CALENDAR for local groups to avoid scheduling conflict was quickly apparent, as well as the need to foster development of individual’s skills in Association Management:

NEED FOR LOCAL S.A.E.: Associations need to link with their LOCAL equivalent organization in order to have a HOST body to invite, issue invitation, serve as host for a convention. This aspect is critical in developing the $multiBILLION convention business for any destination
